ARTS AND CULTURE

In the Spring of 1990 over eighty community-based Latino arts organizations came together to form an organization committee.  The Hispanic Music Program at the UA School of Music and the UA Mariachi Arizona were launched through their efforts.  The next year, the committee established itself as El Centro Cultural de las Américas.  Since then ECCA has become the pre-eminent liaison for Latino arts, including:

  • Dance
  • Photography
  • Graphic Arts
  • Culinary Arts
  • Performing Arts
  • Literature
  • Sculpture
  • Film and Video Production
  • Oral Histories
